About

My name is Parusha Naidoo. I was born in Durban, South Africa. I am African with South Asian roots and call myself Afro-Asian.

I live in Cape Town creating images and stories that unify people across different cultures and share memories, lesser known stories and sometimes recipes from the Global South.

In December 2021 created a digital cookbook called Least Effort Most Reward which contains 21 illustrated Afro-Asian Plant Based recipes. My work has been featured in publications including New Frame, House & Leisure’s Lookbook and Lemon Journal, Koe’sister magazine, Woolworth’s Taste magazine, Daily Maverick and Daily Voice.

At the moment I am working on paintings with the theme “Looking in the direction of blessings” inspired by happy childhood memories

The goal of my work is to bring joy and ignite curiosity in others while sharing art, stories and recipes that are undervalued, overlooked or unknown in the mainstream.

I am available for commissions and collaborations.
